Jon Mindrum Obituary
Born: Feb. 11, 1947; in Winona, MN
Died: May 16, 2015; in Louisville, KY
Jon Mindrum, age 68, of Louisville, Kentucky, died on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. He was born on February 11, 1947, in Winona, Minnesota, to Norman C. and Dorothy (Eggen) Mindrum.
Jon grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois, and graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1965. He studied at Illinois Wesleyan University before graduating from Elmhurst College in 1970. Jon moved to Louisville in 1977. He worked for plastics manufacturer B-Bar-B and then Liqui-Box Corporation where he served as National Sales Manager before his retirement in 1996.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Michael (Dr. Christa) Mindrum; a daughter, Kirsten (Donovan) Fikes; grandchildren, Luke, William and Lila Mindrum, and Remi and Pippa Fikes; brothers, Tom (Alice) Mindrum, Bob (fianc Cathy Russell) Mindrum, Craig (Donna) Mindrum; aunts, Olive Bailey and Dagny Isberg; uncle, Ordell Mindrum; cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Rushford, Minnesota, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, in Rushford. A celebration of Jon's life will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 7:00 p.m., at the Louisville Boat Club, 4200 River Road, Louisville, Kentucky.
