John J. Vincuilla NEWCASTLE, Utah John J Vincuilla, age 92, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully, returning to the loving arms of his beloved wife of 70 years, Lucy on Feb. 6, 2008. Johnny was born Feb. 9, 1915 to Dominic and Carmela Giamo Vincuilla in Waltham. John spent 91 of his 92 years in Waltham and Weston, and loved the area. John learned early how to work, leaving school at age 14 to help support their large Italian family. John married Lucille Barker Nov. 15, 1936. They enjoyed 70 years as best friends before her passing in 2006. Together they had one daughter and one son. John supported his family with various jobs, including as lieutenant with the Waltham Mounted Police until he became a plumber and he worked that job for over 40 years. His best memories were his time with Munson Plumbing and sanding roads with his nephew, Ross Giamo. John was also known for his green thumb, growing a beautiful vegetable and herb garden every year in Massachusetts; after he came West, he tackled Newcastle's dry earth so well that this past summer, he took all blue ribbons at the Iron County Fair for his vegetables and herbs. John was a kind and considerate man, willing to help everyone he met. John was an amazing man: he was sharp minded and had a quick wit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Susan Vincuilla of Newcastle; his grandchildren, Justine (Chad) Brewer, Todd Vincuilla, Debbie (Mike) McGuire, Kelli (Brett) Hunsaker, Vance (Krystle) Randall, Justin Randall, and Ashlee (Mike) Martin; his great-grandchildren, Alexa Brewer, Mikaela and Halle Maddock, Matt, Tad and Jeffrey McGuire, Haakon and McKeir Hunsaker, Haven, Halle and Keira Randall, and Taesom Martin; sisters-in-law, Nellie Vincuilla, Peggy Vincuilla, Yvette Vincuilla, and Ellen Vincuilla, along with many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, daughter Jeanne Clements, his parents, seven brothers, two sisters and a brother-in-law. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at the New Castle LDS Church. Online condolences can be sent to
