John Steuer Obituary
John Lorenz Steuer, of Downers Grove, former resident of Lombard, age 68, loving husband of Teresa Steuer. Loving father of George (Marita) Steuer of Oswego, Sharon (Jason) Kaluzny of Yorkville and Anthony Steuer of Downers Grove. Grandfather of Mateo, Gavin, Justin, Krysta, Vincent, and Brayden. Loving brother to Barbara Steuer, and Uncle to many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded by his parents, Ewald and Luzie Steuer; sister, Ute (Claus) Linden; and brother, Mike Steuer.
Visitation was held Thursday, February 25 from 9:00 until 11:00 AM, with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard. Interment later at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
John Steuer was born in Bamberg, Germany, immigrated to the United States, and eventually settled in Lombard. He worked for the Meat packing industry for most of his life beginning in 1964. On October 10, 1966 he joined the Army and served until October 9, 1972 receiving the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. After an honorable discharge he returned to the industry until retirement. He was also an active member of Post 0489 American Legion and loved spending time with his family.
John was a loving man who got along well with everyone. He always put his family before anything else and loved them with all of his heart. He enjoyed talking about history, religion, movies, and Chicago sports. John will be missed by all, but his heart and spirit will be with us always.

I remember my Uncle Johnny well. He was my mom´s youngest brother and was a very kind man. He loved his family so much and they always came first. I remember when he came home from the army, I was just a kid. Also, he worked at Kneip with his brother Mike and my dad Claus Linden. I think his dad Ewald Steuer also worked there. He leaves behind loved ones who will always remember him and cherish his memory.

So sad to hear the passing of John. We worked together at Kneip and when they closed went on to Brookfield Farms. I ran in to some people who knew John and his brother Mike. So we worked together many years.
Death the last sleep. No it is the final Awakening. May God bless you John and all all your family. You are a good kind man.
