John "Jack" A. Severson, 77, of Morris, died peacefully at his home on April 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Born December 13, 1938, in Morris, he was the son of the late Severt and Viola (Nelson) Severson. Jack attended school in Minooka. He married Marilyn Stafford in 1956 and they had four children: Deborah, John, David (Carol), and Kevin. He farmed all his life in Kendall County and was a member of the Minooka School Board and Lions Club.

Jack is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his four children; sisters, Bette Bowen and Lois Chally; brothers, Richard (Pat) Severson, Ron (Lois) Severson, and Alden (Jeannette) Erickson; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a private burial with family only.

Memorials may be made in Jack's name to the Plattville Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
