John Presegaard Obituary

John Alden Prestegaard, 86, of Denver, formerly of Geneva, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Pres St. Lukes Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was born November 23, 1925 in Lee, IL to Joachim and Thurbor (Maakestad) Prestegaard. Three children, Kathleen (Art) Schleicher, Joanne (Frank) Miltenberger and Patty (Mike) Holmes; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren survive Mr. Prestegaard. His wife Shirley and two grandsons preceded him in death. John enlisted in the Navy in November 1943, where he learned to fly. June 6, 1955 he joined United Air Lines and flew as a pilot for 30 years. Visitation was held on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 4 pm 7 pm at Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Lying in State on Saturday, July 14 from 10 am until time of service 11 am at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 27 S. Edgelawn, Aurora, IL 60506. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park.
