John Parzyk Obituary

John Parzyk, 90, of Lyons passed away January 6, 2010. Mr. Parzyk was born August 20, 1919. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Parzyk was a WWII Veteran, Gunners Mate 1st Class, served aboard U.S.S. Bunch DE-694/APD-079. He was a member of the Northern Illinois Chapter Destroyer Escort Sailor's Association (NI-DESA), Local 130 United Association Chicago Journeyman Plumbers for over 60 years, and a lifetime member of the Greenbay Packers Hall of Fame. Mr. Parzyk was a many of many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed model making, crossword puzzles and history archiving of WWII events He was a collector of stamps, sports memorabilia and books and videos of historical events. Beloved husband of the late Lucille, nee Plonka; loving father of Renee, Thomas (Betsy) Parzyk, and Nancy (Joseph) Nowaczyk; cherished grandfather of Audrey, Louisa, Anna and Michael; fond brother of Edward (Sally) Parzyk, Henry (late Joanne) Parr, late Emil (late Genevieve) Parzygnat and the late Virginia (late Roman) Siudut; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
