John Miaso

Born: Oct. 6, 1927; in Chicago, IL

Died: Sept. 20, 2014; in Sidell, IL

John Miaso, age 86, of Sidell, Illinois, formerly of the Chicago-Berwyn area, passed away at 9:22 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014, at his daughter's home in Sidell.

John was born October 6, 1927, in Chicago to Walter and Sophie Niemiec Miaso. He married Helen Jagiello May 27, 1950. Helen passed away July 20, 1978.

Survivors include two sons, John (Barbara) Miaso of Austin, Texas and David (Donna) Miaso of Roanoke, Texas; two daughters, Katharine Vinardi of Huron, Tennessee and Mary (Don) Elliott of Sidell, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph; one brother, one sister, and one grandson, Matthew.

John had been a stationary engineer with Spectrum Management of Chicago. He was a member of the Steam and Pipefitters Union. He worked with water purification systems and was quite the inventor. He served in the Merchant Marines, and was a member of the American Legion in Stickney, Illinois.

Funeral services 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014, at Robison Chapel in Catlin, with Reverend Don Shane to officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Sidell. Catlin American Legion will provide full military honors. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m., until service time on Friday, at Robison Chapel.

One last " is that right", RIP John Miaso aka Grandpa John, in my opinion this was one of the greatest men I knew, my love and condolences to the family
