John Charles Martin, passed into Eternal Life May 21, 2016, at home after fighting multiple myeloma for three years.

Born June 8, 1952. Graduated LTHS 1970, Michigan Technological University 1974, BS, Michigan University 1977, MS; Suma cum Laude. Longtime resident of Western Springs and devoted member of Oak Brook Community Church.

John is survived by mother, Carol L. Martin; brother, Larry (Charleigh) Martin; his daughter, Gwynivere; sister, SylviaRose Martino; brother, Donald (Donna) Martin; and their daughters, Nicole (John's Godchild), Heather (TJ) Musich, and Courtney; sister, Marjorie (Edward) Bontrager; their son, Jonathan; and sister, Celeste Martino (John's Godchild) (Eduardo Borjon); and their daughters, Rosella and Angela.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 9:00PM with funeral service 7:00pm Friday, May 27, at Oak Brook Community Church, 3100 Midwest Rd., Oak Brook, IL 60523. Family and friends are asked to meet for Funeral Mass Saturday, May 28, at 11:30am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Spring & Ogden Aves., LaGrange, IL. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside IL.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We remember John always stopped to talk to us as he passed our house on his daily walk to the Garden Market. Our boys remember how smart he was with math.

John has left this earth physically but his spirit will always remain with everyone in it's own way. He is at peace.

We wanted to send our love, thoughts & prayers to you.
We are Margie's brother-in-law & sister-in-law.
We met John a couple times & loved his spirit & heart for people.
The last time we seen him was at Mom Bontrager's funeral in Indianapolis & was so blessed that he wanted to be at the funeral.
He will be missed, but the memories will last forever.
Soooooo very happy that John is whole now.
