John S. Luetkebuenger was a caring husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor. He departed this world on January 30, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to John and Apalonia Luetkebuenger on August 15, 1942.
John is survived by his children Robert, Daniel, Jorie, and Timothy, and his 9 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Patricia R. Luetkebuenger.
If you knew our dad, you know how much he loved chatting, fishing, helping others, going on drives, and stopping over just to say, "Hi". He loved a good story! He loved to hear them and tell them. Our dad never met a stranger and he never met someone he couldn't talk to. He was planning fishing trips and telling stories until the very end. We miss him so much!
Please stop over at our dad's house - 5537 Pershing 1-3pm on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 to share a story and a cup of coffee. We'll have a more formal memorial on Saturday, June 21st 12 - 2pm at Herrick Lake Forest Preserve - South Shelter - Butterfield Road west of Naperville Road Wheaton, IL 60189. If you feel inclined - wear your best fishing vest, bring a chair and a fishing pole! Please join us for one or both events to celebrate our dad.
