I was very sorry to hear of Mr. Haffner's passing. I have fond memories of playing golf with him, my father and John as a child. He was, and still is in my eyes, a wondful person to all who knew him. I can still recall him entertaining my little brother for hours while doing home improvements. He would call him "Stringbean" and carry on conversations with a 5 year old as if they were long lost best friends.
My deepest condolences go out to Mrs Haffner, John, Laura, Jeannine, his grandchildren and anybody who came to know him as I did during his 73 years with us

John was a champion for St. John's Lutheran School giving countless hours on many committees and boards. His service for and commitment to the Lord served as an inspiration for many. He will be missed! May the Lord bless his family with warm memories and the sure hope of the resurrection.

I am so sorry! I worked across the hall from John for many years. He was always positive and happy. He had a smile on his face and always in his voice. He was a wonderful man, always ready to help or answer questions. He will be missed!!!

I worked many years in Glen Ellyn below John's office. He was generally the first to say hello in the morning and many times the last to say goodnight always with a smile on his face. He surely will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with him for some years at Sedgwick and enjoyed his sense of humor. I always called him "Jack" and he'd always say "cut that out!". He was a good guy.
