John Desko Obituary

John Desko, 88, of Polk Township, Kunkletown, died Thursday, May 20, in the Blue Mountain Health System's Palmerton Campus. He was the husband of Pauline (Skrovanek) Desko since Jan. 22, 1050.
He was an administrator/supervisor for the New York City Transit Authority for over 40 years before retiring in 1982.
Born in New York, N.Y., he was a son of the late Anton and Anna (Culak) Derkach.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having participated in the European Theater. He attained the rank of sergeant.
The deceased was an avid woodworker, crafter and gardener.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Paula Desko, with whom he resided; three sons, John Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Allentown, Philip, and his wife, Randi, of Freehold, N.J., and Michael, and his wife, Susan, of Mahwah, N.J.; and five grandchildren.
Service: Funeral service private. Interment, Sacred Heart New Cemetery, Palmerton. Arrangements by Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Online condolences can be offered at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
