Dearest Noah and all of the Buckley family,
My heart is so saddened by hearing of John's passing. He was such a warm, kind, generously welcoming person, and will be greatly missed by those blessed enough to have met him.
May you all find peace, strength and comfort with each other right now and through all those around you. With deepest condolences, Emily

Dear Sandy & Family,
Tom & I were so sorry to learn of John's passing today. What a shock! We ran into John just a few weeks ago in Braxtons in Oak Brook. It was so good to see him and, as always, John was a perfect gentleman. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Buckley Family, from the other entries, I can see that John R. is someone I would have liked to have known better. He was my son's (Gerry Moses) godfather, but regretably, we lived so far away, we did not get to know John R. better. I am sorry for your loss.

To John's Family:
I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. I was privileged to both appear before him and work with him for more than five years. He was a wise, compassionate man who taught me much about being a judge. He was also a great storyteller, and he regaled me with many funny stories of his year at Loyola's Rome Center.
I am so sorry I was not able to attend his services and tell you all in person how much I will miss him. He was a good man, and I'm proud to have known him.

Dear Sandy and family,
I had the privilege of working with John for three years, and it was always a pleasure. He was everything a good judge should be - studious, precise, thoughtful and empathic. He treated everyone with dignity, regardless of their station in life. The children and families of Illinois have truly lost a friend.
As have I. I will miss his wit, his interest in the world around him, and his boundless kindness, which continues to serve as an example to all who knew him. Please accept my condolences and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Buckley Family: We are saddened to hear of the passing of John. He was such a fine man & represented us in the purchase of our first home many years ago. We also have many personal memories of having grown up with the kids & professional memories of serving the Riverside community with many of his children. May God comfort you in this time of sadness & bring healing to you all.

To all of John's family. I am a Jesuit priest living in the Andes mountains in Peru, South America. But more important a class mate of John whom I have always considered a close friend. He was always an inspiration for us and a true leader. Allow me to offer the consolation of my prayers and masses for John and all of you. God bless.

Dear Buckley Family,
I am an attorney who recently appeared before Judge Buckley. My husband and I are expecting our first child at the beginning of August. After our hearing was over, Judge Buckley congratulated me and told me that I have so many wonderful things in store as a parent. He said that he has grown children and that parenting has been such a great joy for him. I wanted to share this with you because it was clear that his family was incredibly important and dear to him. I hope the memories you have of your husband, father, and grandfather will bring you comfort during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Sara Block
