John Beaudin Obituary

John R. Beaudin, 60, of Chisholm, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at Fairview University Medical Center- Mesabi, Hibbing. He was born Sept. 27, 1947 in Duluth, to Willard N. and Caroline A. (Soderquist) Beaudin. He was a 1965 graduate of Morgan Park High School in Duluth and had been a Chisholm resident since 1973. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. John was united in marriage on Aug. 23, 1969 in Duluth to Deborah K. DeWitt. He retired in December 2006 as a shift operation foreman for U.S. Steel's Minntac Plant after 40 years of service. He served on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota State Bowling Association. He was also the Secretary for the Hibbing Bowling Association for 30 years. John was an avid bowler and loved fishing, curling and playing cards. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. Survivors include his wife, Debby; daughters, Sarah and Marie, both of Eagan, Minn., Becky of Plymouth, Minn.; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Katie Olson and Marissa Beaudin; mother, Caroline of Duluth; brothers, Rick (Lynda) of Jordan, Minn., George (Milka) of Independence, Minn., Duane of Macon, GA; sister, Jan (Gary) Beaudin-Johnson of Tonopah, Nev; half sister, Arlene (Bud) Sullivan of Florida; numerous nephews and nieces and many other close friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father; two half brothers and three half sisters. The family wishes a special thank you to Dr. Robert Chalgren for his caring and kindness. FUNERAL SERVICE:11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 in the Chisholm United Methodist Church with Rev. Barb Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service in the church on Thursday.
