We are all so sorry to hear about Joel. The great time we had growing up on Maple Avenue will always be with us. We shared good laughs and made great memories. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with your family and with Susan and her children during this very difficult time.

To Joel's family, my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved husband and father.

I will miss Joel's visits to Toronto. We had hoped to share a beer while watching his Chicago Blackhawk and my Montreal Canadiens in the Hockey playoffs.

I will remember Joel fondly, especially his jovial and contagious laugh that always made my day!

Joel left us too soon. May he rest in peace.

I worked with Joel each time he came to Toronto and will always remember him with a smile. Whenever he would see me the first thing is he would tease me about the Tim Horton’s coffee and Timbits and he and I would always share a good laugh over it. He was a good man, always willing to share his thoughts and ideas and never would turn from a challenge. I remember calling Joel a few times late in the night or early morning and he was always willing to help.

I will miss him and his good spirit.

Dear Susan, Drew and Megan,

Joel was a great co-worker but an even better friend, We shared a lot of long discussions about both my 3 girls and Drew and Megan. It was great to be able to share with him. We shared a lot of great laughs too. He made work fun and was a great person, I will miss him greatly. As you can tell Joel touched a lot of people's live both as a professinal and a friend.

You have my deepest sympathy and I am sure it will be a while before you can truly smile but I know that Joel would love for us to all keep smiling.

Susan, Drew and Megan: Terry and I are very sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything we can do to help you just remember we are a few doors down the street.

Joel was a good friend to his many colleagues and we were all richer for sharing some of the path with him. Wife and children were his true joy and family was always first. Said what he meant, meant what he said. Honest to a fault with a great sense of humor. Joel also had a forgiving nature, where forgiveness can be the greatest challenge for the best of us. He was and is a good man.

I was shocked to hear about the passing of Joel. Here at the LCBO we enjoyed working with Joel and will certainly miss him. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Deepest condolences on your tragic loss, from Joel's many friends & colleagues at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO).

Joel was a devoted professional, and worked tirelessly on our behalf - both in Chicago and on his many trips to Toronto. A true gentleman, he did a magnificent job of managing his (and our) resources - not a trivial accomplishment, as it was often like herding cats.

Joel will be greatly missed on both the personal and professional levels by all of us at LCBO.

We will definitely keep family and friends in our thoughts & prayers.
