Jeanette Tomczykowski Obituary
Formerly of Lynn; 88
FITCHBURG -- Mrs. Jeanette G. (Marino) Tomczykowski, 88, recently of Fitchburg, and formerly of Lynn, died Tuesday, after a life filled with happiness and travel. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Tomczykowski, sharing 50 years together.
Born in Lynn on July 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Stella (Faino) Marino. She was raised in Lynn and was a 1943 graduate of Lynn English High School.
As a resident of Lynn for most of her life, Jeanette was an employee of the General Electric Co., for over 40 years. She supported St. Mary's Beano and thoroughly enjoyed watching local high school football, especially the Thanksgiving Day games. After retirement, she volunteered and organized numerous trips with the Lynn Y.M.C.A. Retirees Men & Women's Club.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Walter Tomczykowski of Edgewater, MD and his wife, Robyn; and daughter, Paula (Tomczykowski) Grier, and her husband, Kevin, who both cared for her in Fitchburg. She also leaves a grandson, Brendan P. Grier; two step-grand-daughters, Katie Grier and Devin (Grier) Norris; a brother, Joseph L. Marino and his wife, Lorraine of Cape Coral, FL; a first cousin, Bruce Beaulieu of Ipswich, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Theresa E. Sertoian and Dolores P. Brown.
TOMCZYKOWSKI -- Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 23 at 11:30 AM at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rte. 129), Lynn. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 AM to 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Parish, 8 South Common Street, Lynn, MA 01902 or The Highlands, 335 Nichols Rd., Fitchburg, MA, 01420, please indicate in the memo "Donation to Adult Day Health." Dear Paula,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I remember talking to you about her and her mom many times. You and Kevin took such good care of her for many years, and you should be happy about that. Not an easy thing to do.
I know you must have a lot of great memories that will keep her close in the years to come.
