Jean Moore Obituary

Jean was a good and valued friend of my mother, Margaret "Beri" Noble. I'm sorry for your loss. She will be missed.

DuPage County has lost one of its greatest treasures. Jean Moore's spirit truly will live on in her writings and through the lives of those she touched. I will never forget what I learned from her through her books and in our conversations on various community topics. In my work at The Daily Journal and at Carol Stream schools for many years, Jean was the person I would turn to for research and insight. She was always willing to share her thoughts. I am sorry to hear she is gone. May she rest in peace.

From the day we met, I considered you my "second" Mom, my mentor, and the sweetest, most considerate, loving and kind lady I ever knew. You taught me to never let any handicap hold me back in doing what I love best in life. You were NEVER a quitter, nor a complainer. You never spoke unkindly about anyone, nor did you sit back and let someone else do it for you. I have the utmost respect for you here on Earth and in Heaven above. I can only say "THANK YOU" for everything and may you rest comfortably in your new home 'til we meet again. Bill and I love you, Mother Moore.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jean. It was an honor to know Jean and to be her friend. She was such an important part of Carol Stream. She was always available to me to listen and share her knowledge and wisdom. Carol Stream will not be the same without her.

Jim and Peggy, it was a privilege to have known your mom and dad and to have anjoyed their contributions that so enriched our lives.

My family has always been thankful for her keeping the Landmeier family and the "Out on the Farm" TV show in the history of the area. She has been a great friend from a distance and somehow we will really miss her. Please have comfort in her life and her passing.

Dear Family of Jean Moore: She made a tremendous contribution to DuPage County by reporting and writing its history. We at the Friends of Pioneer Cemeteries (of Milton Township) are saddened by her passing, but pleased that we were able to make her our first Emeritus Member earlier this year.

Mrs. Moore's contribution is so important to Carol Stream. All of us who care about this community owe her a debt of gratitude. May she rest in peace.

You knew me all of my 31 years, and were so very valuable to the Kostopoulos family. Our families will be forever intwined, and I am proud to have known you. I will never forget your embrace, your smiles, and your talent. Your published works, articles, books... Well, they will live on forever.
Now you are at peace- And will be missed by many on Earth.
