I knew Jane all through grade school at St. Pet's. I remember vividly a sleep-over she invited me to. Jane's mother woke us up early Saturday morning to go to Mass. This was unexpected for me and I didn't bring a dress or skirt to wear so Jane gave me one that belonged to her. She was a toothpick and I was not so I could not breathe the entire time we were at Mass. I loved Jane though. She was a true friend in my childhood and I have only the fondest of memories. We went to different high schools and lost touch. But I still attend St. Pet's and over the years when I would pass her house, I would think of her and what a nice person she was. She is frozen in my mind as a 13 year old girl and I will keep her that way in my heart. My deepest sympathy to the Finch family who have lost their baby Janie. Kathy Brown Hobein

Janie was our babysister in Glen Ellyn in the 60s and early 70s. She joined us for family vacations and was an important influence on my and my sisters' lives. She was smart, funny, and kind, and we will remember her always.

What a great laugh! Will always remember running into Janie and Peggy at TJX checking out the sales. A "special" family to know!
