Czerwone maki na Monte Cassino
Zamiast rosy pily polska krew...
Po tych makach szedl zolnierz i ginal,
Lecz od smierci silniejszy byl gniew!
Przejda lata i wieki przemina,
Pozostana slady dawnych dni!..
I tylko maki na Monte Cassino
Czerwiensze beda, bo z polskiej wzrosna krwi.

Today The Flor Family is saddened at the news of the death of Jan Sochanski. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family. Jan and Alice(Mrs. Sohanski was my godmother) were long time friends of our parents Edward and Joan, dating back to the 1950's. Both he and my father were WWII veterans and Polish patriots. Coincidentally, they also took British natives as brides. I don't think I've ever met a gentler, kinder man in my life. I will always remember his laugh and the good times our families used to share together. God bless Jan. May he rest in peace.

I would like to extend my condolence to the Sochanski Family. My father Tadeusz Kowalczyk died-2009 and my uncle Michael Lecko died-1994 fought together at the Battle of Monte Cassino under the command of General Anders We will never forget these men even in death what fine men they were. They have given their souls to God, and always their heart will belong to Poland. BASIA KOWALCZYK-OHALLORAN
