James Peter "Pete" Teschner, Chicago/formerly Hinsdale, Illinois, born the son of Paul A. Teschner and Helen B. Teschner (decesased) on March 12, 1931, passed away on December 11, 2017
Survived by wife, Mary Gill Teschner of Chicago; children, Laurie Teschner (Kevin) Adams, Peter Gill (Gloria)Teschner, Amy Teschner (Anthony Hurtig), M. Katherine Teschner Nelson (James); grandchildren, Gretchen Adams, Brian Adams, Akia Pacheco, Gill Hurtig, Mae Hurtig, Charlotte Nelson, Sam Nelson; also survived by three great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Thomas Teschner, Sara Teschner Amrein, Susan Teschner Wagner.
Preceded by brothers and sisters, Paul Teschner, Jane Teschner, Patricia Teschner, John Teschner; his parents, Paul A. Teschner and Helen B. Teschner.
Pete was the former longtime editor and publisher of The Doings Newspapers, Inc., Hinsdale-based West Suburban community newspapers; avid golfer and former member Ruth Lake Country Club (Hinsdale) and Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club (Florida); former member of multiple national and regional newspaper associations including the DuPage Publishers Association; member of The Church of the Holy Nativity (Episcopal), Clarendon Hills. Pete attended York High School, Elmhurst, Illinois, and Elmhurst College.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, at Adolf Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook, IL, 60527.
