James Sire Obituary
James W. Sire died February 6, 2018. He was born October 17, 1933 in Inman, Nebraska.
He grew up on the rim of the sandhills of central Nebraska. His family raised Hereford cattle. He showed cattle at county and state fairs as a youth. He graduated from Butte Nebraska High School. He attended the University of Nebraska with a major in Chemistry, English, and ROTC. He received a PhD in English from University of Missouri-Columbia. He was married in 1955 to Marjorie Ruth Wanner. They had four children, and he spent his professional life as a professor, editor, author, speaker, philosopher, and theologian.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his four children, Carol Betczynski, Gene Sire, Richard Sire, and Ann Graham; eight grandchildren, Caleb Betczynski, Derek Sire, Hannah Sire, Micah Sire, Abbie Sire, Joanna Sire, Aaron Graham, and Jacob Graham; and sisters, Marjorie Sire Johnson and Helen Sire Fisher.

Our deepest condolences to Marjorie and the family. Only in eternity will we know the extent of Jim's influence but on this side of eternity we know it has been immense. Jim was a true servant of God.
