I remember going to Aunt Verlie and Uncle Burls house and James coming by to eat with us. He had his own special plate, coffee cup with a broken handle and special fork. He was always being petted by his mom,Aunt Verlie. She loved him so much! My husband, Larry, remembers pheasant hunting in Virginia with him. When James was a young man and not married he came to Lexington and lived with Noah and Ilene Phillips,Larry's parents, for a short time while working in the area. Larry,Noah and James used to play horse shoes in the back yard in the evenings. I first met James and Karyryn shortly after I married Larry in 1972 and I was impressed at how much Kathryn loved James! She is the sweetest person. I pray that God will comfort all of the family in your time of loss. Gwen Phillips, 2024 Hedrick Mill, Lexington, NC
