Peggy, Christopher, Joseph, and Michael, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Jim at World Book in the 1980s and 1990s, and I had the greatest respect for him. He always impressed me as a thoughtful, kind, and considerate person. I liked him very much, and I understand how much you and all who loved him will miss him. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Peggy, I read of Jim's life since I last saw the two of you over 25 years ago, with a mix of wonderment at his accomplishments and sadness that he passed so suddenly. I also could tell that the two of you raised a great group of boys by the mature perspective they displayed in their comments to the press. This came as no surprise as we knew the good, kind couple you were even when we were all so young. Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family.
