James R. Hall, age 88, passed away March 21, 2022. He was born July 6, 1933 in Taylorville, IL, to the late Willard and the late Jeanette Hall.
Jim met his future wife, Amelia, when they both attended Taylorville High School. He was a star football player for the Taylorville Tornadoes and she was the prom queen. After graduating in 1951, he also played football for Eastern Illinois for a year.
He worked for Reynolds Aluminum Plant as a mechanic for over 40 years, retiring at 62. Jim was a lifelong avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and bowler. He enjoyed his time as a guide for the South Wilmington Sportman Club.
Beloved husband of Amelia L. Hall (nee Catalpa); loving father of Jamie (Mike) Breslin and Kirk (Penny) Hall; cherished grandfather of Jeffrey and Jennifer Breslin; and further survived by his dear German short hair, Dutch.
