James Breeden Obituary

FLORENCE -- James Arthur Breeden Jr., 80, of 1010 S. Santiago Drive, died Monday morning, Nov. 4, 2002, at his residence after an illness.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Entombment will follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Mr. Breeden was born in Whitesburg, Tenn., a son of the late James Arthur and Fanny Tarter Breeden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was a member of the Shriners Club of Memphis, Tenn., Al Chymia Temple, The American Legion and St. Paul United Methodist Church and the McNair Sunday School Class in Florence.

He was owner and operator of Jim's R.V. Business, was once general manager of a poultry processing plant in Decatur, Ark., motel owner and operator in Fulton, Ky.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Turner Breeden of the home; a son, Steven T. (Phyllis Ann) Breeden of Florence; daughter, Ann (James C.) Hart of Murrells Inlet; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, James A. Breeden, III; and brothers, Richard T. and Fred M. Breeden.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1629 W. Palmetto St., Florence, SC or to Carolinas Hospice, 121 E. Cedar St., Florence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
