Jacqueline Schectman Obituary

Of Boston, MA, Sept. 15, 2005. Jackie was an analyst with the C.G. Jung Institute and a much beloved teacher, author, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by a son, a daughter, two grandchildren, and a sister. Jackie was born in Philadelphia, PA and also lived and worked in Allentown, PA and Worcester, MA. She spent her last 22 years in Boston. A lifelong learner, she earned a BA in American History from Temple University, a MSW from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work, and a Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of Boston. Jackie was a fabulous cook, baking bread and holiday feasts for friends and family. She traveled widely for work and pleasure. Florence was one of her favorite places. She loved to read and tell stories-both in her professional capacity and to entertain her grandchildren. Although blind and increasingly debilitated from diabetic complications in her later years, Jackie continued to work and maintained an uncompromising independence. A bold, intrepid spirit, with gifts of insight and compassion, she will be greatly missed by the many whose lives she touched in a transformative way. The memorial service will take place on Sunday, Oct 2 at 4 PM at the C.G. Jung Institute in Newton, MA. Donations in Jackie's memory can be made, in lieu of flowers, to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Jackie leaves an immense legacy in Boston.

The obituary was beautifully written, John and Eva. It captures so much of who she was.

My deepest condolences to the whole family.
