Jacqueline M. Deutsch
Born: March 18, 1927; in Blue Earth, MN
Died: March 7, 2015; in Ft. Myers, FL
Jacqueline Margaret Deutsch, age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at her home in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Jackie, our loving mother, was born March 18, 1927, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Glee (Thomas) and Roy Stanton. The family lived in West Chicago, Illinois, where Jackie graduated from high school in 1945.
Jackie married Leonard P. Parsons on September 7, 1946, in West Chicago. They owned and operated Parsons Mink Ranch and were the proud parents of three children-Jerrilyn, Stanton, and Michael. They later moved to Elburn, where Jackie served as a volunteer for many community organizations. She was famous for her pumpkin pies and Leonard often remarked, "Do we ever get to keep one at home?" Jackie relished being a grandmother to her six grandchildren, Lisa, Jeff, Dana, Darcy, Scott, and Brian, and was delighted when her only great grandchild, Gretchen, was born.
Jackie had a long work history that included positions at Illinois Bell Telephone Company, General Mills, and Aetna Life Insurance. She was an excellent Administrative Assistant known for her organizational skills and her strong work ethic.
Leonard passed away in 1983. The next phase of Jackie's life started when she married Leo S. Deutsch on June 18, 1988. Together they shared 26 years of fun, travel, love, and friendship.
While living in Ft. Myers, their lives centered around the Myerlee Country Club, where they were active golfers who sometimes played 36 holes of golf in one day! When they were not golfing, they would search for shells on Sanibel Island. Jackie loved Florida, and the view of Fort Myers Beach, when driving over the bridge.
Jackie loved collecting and displaying blue glass, as well as family photos. She was a "people person" who lit up a room with her smile and her outgoing personality. She had a sense of style that she kept until the very end.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Leo; three children, Jerrilyn (Bruce) Brewer, Stanton Parsons, Michael (Terrie) Parsons; two step-children, Steven (Lynn) Deutsch, Sharon (Dean) Scott; six grandchildren, Lisa Rainwater, Jeff Rainwater, Dana Parsons, Darcy Parsons, Scott Parsons, Brian Parsons; four step-grandchildren, Daniel Deutsch, Kevin Deutsch, Leslie (Jacob) Henderson, Angela Scott; one great grandchild, Gretchen Fitzgibbon; one step-great grandchild, Addison Henderson.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents and a sister.
A Celebration of Life was held for Jackie, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on March 18, 2015, at the Myerlee Country Club, 1380 Myerlee Country Club Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL. The Neptune Society is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family prefers memorials be given to a local Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
Jackie's family would like to thank her caregivers, Diana and Avery, and the Hope Hospice Association for their loving care and for ensuring that our Mamma had a dignified, peaceful passing. We love you, Mamma, and will miss you forever.

I owe to my angel mother." Abraham Lincoln
