Jack Frost Obituary

Jack E. Frost, 86, a longtime Glen Ellyn resident, passed away September 6, 2008. Loving husband of Kay for 63 years; father of Ken (Peggy) of Glen Ellyn, Claudia (Andy) Ulavege of Morton, IL, Dave (Cathy) of Walnut Creek, CA; six grandchildren: Tammy (Mark) Lloyd, Jackie (Scot) Kaumans, Jessica Frost, Christy (Paul) Josias, Mike Ulavege and Josh Frost; five great-grandchildren: Nate, Nash, Julia, Owen and Alysa. He was the son of Mabel and David Frost of Park Ridge, IL and had six brothers, all deceased (David, Fred, Kenneth, Earl, Ray and Warren). He was brother to Dorothy (Rodger) Peterson of Bartlett, IL. Jack was Past Commander of American Legion Glen Ellyn Post 3 and Finance Officer for over 40 years. He was a member of DuPage County Voiture 263, the Wheaton Masonic Lodge, the Glen Ellyn Historical Society and the Arboretum. As Americanism Chairman for Post 3, he worked with Glen Ellyn junior and high school students on speech, written and oratorical contests and also on Boys State. Jack was a strong supporter of the community, and received several awards for his work with the American Legion. He was the force behind the construction of the Veterans Memorial in Lake Ellyn Park. A memorial will be held at the Leonard Memorial Home in Glen Ellyn, (630) 469-0032. Plans have not been finalized at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., The Anti-Cruelty Society, or to your favorite charity in Jack's memory.
