Inez Kromray Obituary

Inez G. Kromray, age 101, of The Holmstad in Batavia, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Michealsen Health Care Center. She was born January 3, 1907 in Houghton, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Ellen (nee Ruble) Rhoads. Inez grew up on her parent's farm near Houghton, South Dakota. She was united in marriage to Anthony "Duke" Kromray on July 3, 1926. They made their home in LaGrange for many years. She was a member of the Lyonsville Congregational Church, Illinois. Inez moved to the Holmstad in the mid 1980's and has been a member of the Batavia Congregational Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star LaGrange Chapter #201 in Western Springs. Inez enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and especially quilting. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and dedicated grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta (James) Martin, of McFarland, Wisconsin; son, Eugene (Rene) Kromray, of Ottumwia, Iowa; four grandchildren, Norene, Scott, Linda, and Kristin and nine great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Anthony Kromray; son, Robert A. Kromray; a grandson Bryon Kromray; and five sisters, two brothers. Visitation will be Friday, March 28. 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Avenue Batavia, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Parkholm Cemetery in LaGrange Park, Illinois.
