Hugh Allen Mossell, age 63, passed away suddenly, December 20, 2016 at his home in Petersburg, IL, formerly resided in Westmont, IL.
Born January 31, 1953 in Chicago, IL. Beloved husband of Jo Ann nee Schuster; loving father of Grant and Michael Mossell; dear step-father of Kelly (Ricky) Schnell and Ryan Davie; special grandfather of Max Schnell; devoted son of Marilynn Mossell of Frankfort, IL; dearest brother of Holly Wealer of Hannibal, MO, Heather (Raymond) Rowswell of New Lenox, IL, Hillary Mossell of Hannibal, MO, Hope Cathelyn of Braidwood, IL and Henry Mossell of Frankfort, IL; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Daisy.
Preceded in death by his father, Henry and his brother, Hunt.
Hugh was employed at Argonne National Laboratories as a precision machinist for 26 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved his Harley, woodworking, boating, stained glass and gardening. Funeral services Tuesday December 27, 2016, at Noon, at West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 39 N. Cass Ave., Westmont.
Visitation Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. till Noon. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc. 208 S. La Salle St., Ste. 1500 Chicago, IL 60604 or Menard Animal Protection.

So very sorry to hear about Hugh. I've known him and his family since 1960. Will always remember working with Hugh for a short time and taking a spin on his 750 Kawasaki! He was a great guy taken way too soon.
