Helena Kelley Obituary
She was born on Nov. 7, 1930, in Fitchburg, the daughter of Spylios and Mary (Spyropoulos) Asssimakopoulos. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School.
Mrs. Kelley owned the Mirkwood Natural Health Food Store in Leominster and later worked for the Laidlaw Bus Co. as a bus driver.
She leaves one son, Michael P. Kelley; one daughter, Diane P. Dignard; one grandson, Robert M. Dignard; four brothers, John, Michael, Charles and Mina Assimakopoulos, all of Fitchburg; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Robert Kelley, died in 1980.
KELLEY -- On Dec. 24, Helena (Assimakopoulos) Kelley, 75, of Fitchburg. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to DVNA Hospice, Health Alliance Development Office, 275 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.

I knew Helena when she owned Mirkwood and remember her as a kind and compassionate person. I was also her massage therapist for awhile and because we shared an interest in good health, we had many interesting conversations. Our busy lives took us in different directions and I lost track of her when she left Mirkwood.
I am sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace and may her peace be yours.
