Helen Kinnavy Obituary

Helen Mary Kinnavy, 80, of Sandwich, passed away November 24, 2012 at her daughters home in Waterman, IL. She was born on May 17, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late Peter and Mary Fedorow. Helen was a strong, independent woman. She loved laughing and was always eager to hear a good joke. Music was important throughout her entire life. Along with her three sisters they formed a musical group called " the Fedorow Sisters ". The quartet toured all over Chicago area until they slowly disbanded in the late 50's. Helen continued playing on and off again with both Sister Jenny and daughter Trish. Music played for her daily until the very end. She is survived by her husband William of Sandwich; 6 children; Mary (George) Groetzenbach of Sandwich, Susan (Ray) Booker of Waterman, William G. (Denise) Kinnavy Jr. of Aurora, Patricia (James) Marshall of Yorkville, Paul (Julie) Kinnavy of Charlotte, NC. And Michael (Jenifer) Kinnavy of St. Charles; 14 precious grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters Olga, Anne and Jenifer and 3 brothers George, Paul and Walter. Visitation will be held at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St., Sandwich on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 3-9 p.m. with a Mass of Resurrection celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Somonauk with Fr. Thomas Brantman Celebrant, interment to follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery Somonauk. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dekalb Co. Hospice of The Alzheimer's Association.
