Helen Brooks Obituary

Helen E. Brooks, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Helen was from Jackson, Ohio. She raised her family of five in Elmhurst, IL with her late husband Verne R. Brooks. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Floyd and Mildred Powell. Best friend to her sisters Janice, Thelma, Donna, Carol and brother, Jerry; sister- in-law to Regina Brooks and late Burdette Brooks. She was a devoted mother to Terry (Barbara), Verna Brooks-Clark (Steve), Duane (David), Curtis and Ginger Lynn Brooks. Loving Grandmother of Shawna, Amber, Derrik, Ross and Austin. Helen was an interpreter at heart, she taught her children the fine art of business, and encouraged creativity with the use of your hands and mind. She would do anything to win a soul to Christ. She was laid to rest with her husband in a private graveside service at Fairview Cemetery in Tonica, IL. Rest In Peace, Helen E. Brooks. Meet Me There As I leave this earthly land behind, To journey on my way; One thing I'd say to each of you, "I'll meet you all some day." My body I will leave behind. But my soul will take its flight; To a city where the streets are gold And there never will be night I'll never feel the pain again, That I suffered here below; I'm sitting by the stream of life Where celestial waters flow Safe now at last in God's great arms Secure for evermore. With friends and loved ones I Shall dwell On Heaven's golden shore Dear loved ones I would say to you If happy you would be Just give your heart and soul to God So you can live with me. I'll wait for you across the way, I'll linger near the door; Til I can hold you once again As you step upon the shore. By Maxine Goheen
