Helen A. (Drew) Becker was born July 24, 1917 in Walworth Co. Wisconsin, passed away October 5, 2009. She began teaching in a one-room school house. In 1942 she joined the W.A.C., where she met Clyde Becker (Beck) who was also in the armed service. They married in 1944. She lived in West Chicago (1951-1967) and Winfield Township (1967 2009). Helen taught generations of students to read in both the Carol Stream and the West Chicago school districts. She loved children, wildlife and peppermint ice cream. Her daughter Maura preceded her in death. Her husband Clyde, her daughters Mary Ellen (Joanne Trapani) and Catherine, and her sons William (Gloria), Michael (Pamela) and Brian (Russ Reinhorn) survive her. Also surviving her are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A private family gathering is planned.

SHE WAS ALWAYS SO GLAD TO SEE ALL OF HER RELATIVES, AND MADE ME FEEL SO WELCOME, AND ALWAYS INTERESTED IN WHAT WE WERE DOING. I LOVED GOING TO POMEROY DR. FOR FAMILY PICNICS.

She will be missed but not forgotten. There was never a kinder person. She helped so many people in her life, especially my family. We are all better people for knowing Helen.
