Hazel Hansen Obituary
Hazel R. Hansen, longtime resident of Elmhurst, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the age of 93.
Hazel was the beloved wife of the late Edward E. Hansen; loving mother of Julia Rohles, Linda (Matthew) Smith and Mary Hansen Alletto; proud grandmother of Kimberly Harrigan, Bradley Rohles, Peter Rohles, Lauren Smith, Christopher Smith, Benjamin Smith, Stacey Alletto, Dana Alletto and Ashley Alletto and great-grandmother of Jack Harrigan and Amy Harrigan; sister of the late Jane Nash; and aunt of Carolyn Rusteberg and Sandra Gibbons.
Hazel was very active in the Elmhurst community, serving for many years as President of the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Guild; serving on its Board of Trustees; Guild Council Chairman from 1983-1985 and 1997 to 2000 ;and also in various fundraising efforts for the hospital.
Visitation at the Pedersen Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst, on Friday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation Private.
Contributions to the Anti-Cruelty Society (anticruelty.org) are appreciated.

We Shed Two (2) Tears
We shed the first tear when a child is born,
Then
The last tear for a friend's Sweet Farewell!!
We shed a tear, for a child, when they are born, for we know all the joy and sorrow they will have to live, a life that can be short or a life that can be 93 years long
We then shed a tear for a friend's sweet farewell, for a true friend is a rarity in Life!
Your Mother was a best friend to her family and for many others.So we say Farewell to a Friend and Your Mother!
