Harry Carter Obituary

GENEVA- Harry "Hudge" Carter, 54, of 21 Geneva St., passed away on Monday (November 29, 2010) at the Living Center North.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 2) at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday (Dec. 3) at St. Paul's Community Baptist Church, 76 E. North St. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Harry was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Perry and Margaret Hill Carter Sr. He was a graduate of Geneva High School Class of 1976 and was on the wrestling team. He studied bookkeeping and accounting in Pittsburgh, Penn. and worked as a supervisor of the housekeeping dept. at Geneva General Hospital until his health failed him. He enjoyed music, playing games and bowling.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Tracy (Marlin Crowder) Carter of Rochester; stepchildren: Craig Morgan of Charleston, N.C., Lauri Jones of Seneca Falls, Mark Morgan of Seneca Falls and Scott (Julie) Morgan of Lyons; grandchildren: Charles Wise IV, Quintel Wise and Chanel Wise, all of Rochester; sisters: Vera Hampton of Rochester, Dolores (Vernon) Thomas of Waterloo, Marietta Carter, Marie Perdue and Shirley Lewis, all of Rochester; sister-in-law, Darlene Carter; brothers: Johnny Carter of Waterloo, Clifford Carter of Rochester, Willis (Pat) Carter of Lynchburg, Va., Charles (Lisa Gould) Carter of Geneva and Richard (Ann) Carter of Waterloo; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
