Harrison Smith Obituary

Died: Feb. 27, 2016
Harrison E. Smith, Jr., (Smitty) of Burr Ridge, passed away February 27th, 2016, at Hines VA Hospital.
Born December 20, 1930, Smitty was a Korean War Veteran; Purple Heart & Silver Star recipient; and long-time resident of Western Springs. He also was a member of Western Springs VFW. After retirement, he worked part-time at the Western Springs Pool and was commonly known as The Pool Guy.
Smitty is survived by his loving wife, Mickey; sons, Carmen (Barb) and Harrison (Bob); and daughter, Mickey (Brad) Schwartz; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 16th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4370 Woodland Ave, Western Springs. Inurnment Private.

I have many memories of my cousin Smitty. He was a very kind and loving man. I remember a long time ago at a party at Montclair Bowl, 3 of us cousins, me, JoAnn and Dee Dee along with Smitty had a night full of laughter! He was always there for every family gathering with my cousin, his wife Mickey. I will truly miss him. My prayers and sympathy are with his family.
