Grace Schneider Obituary

Grace E. Schneider, age 64, of Highland, IL passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008. Visitation Friday, Feb. 22 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 8-11 a.m. at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home Highland, IL. Interment at Highland City Cemetery. Mrs. Schneider was born in Chicago, adopted at age 4 months and at age seven moved to Glen Ellyn, IL where she grew up. She graduated Glenbard High School in 1962. She had lived in Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Sycamore and Mascoutah, IL prior to moving to Highland, IL, in 1978. She was a Nurse's Aide and had worked at Dupage County Nursing Home, Anna Henry Nursing Home in Edwardsville and Faith Countryside Homes in Highland. She had also been a Real Estate Agent for Holzinger Realty, Highland. When her children were growing up, she had been a Brownie Leader, and involved with Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She also reared foster children. She enjoyed shopping, reading and spending time with her family. Mrs. Schneider is survived by her husband Jon D. Schneider, of Highland, IL; her daughters, Paula J. (Ron) Koley of Pierron, IL, Andrea K. (Lon) Schwend of Greenville, IL and Errin L. (George) Neuner of Saint Peters, MO; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Luther Bergendoff; her mother, Agnes Marie Bergendoff (nee Mattson); her son, David Jon Schneider, died 10/29/04 and her brother Paul L.
