Gordon W. Karum Gordon W. Karum, age 87. Absent from the body, present with The Lord. Lived in Glen Ellyn. Survived by his wife, Jean. She was his wife and best friend for 66 years. Sons, James (Kimberly), John (Susan) and Robert (Nancy). Grandchildren, Michael, Scott, Jorie, Paul, Keith, Marc, Joshua, Mark and Lindsey. Great-Grandchildren, Aaron, Zoe, Easton and Evan. Also many nieces and nephews. Gordon grew up in Chicago. He met Jean when he was a crossing guard at Darwin School. Jean went out of her way to cross where Gordon was on patrol. They became good friends and later a couple. At 17, with the consent of his parents, Gordon enlisted in the Marines. He was a WWll veteran. After serving 2 years over seas, he came home. At 21, Gordon married Jean. Later had 3 boys. Worked for REA Express Company for over 32 years. After leaving there, Gordon worked construction and maintenance. Gordon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Gordon 's love for The Lord was evident every day of his life. Gordon will be greatly missed.
