Glenn Robinson Obituary

Glenn F. "Robbie" Robinson, age 96, of Findlay, OH, passed away Friday, May 5, 2006, at The Heritage in Findlay. Glen was born November 11, 1909, to Otis and Ada Margaret (Heuring) Robinson and graduated from Findlay High School in 1928. He married Ruth V. Reed on November 28, 1936. Glenn worked for Buckeye Traction Ditcher, drove bus for C & LE (Cincinnati and Lake Erie) bus lines and then for Greyhound bus for 33 years and retired from there. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the South Pacific and helped build a field hospital in New Guinea. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 80 years where he sang in the choir for many years. He was a member of Findlay Lodge #227 F. and A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo where he was a member of the Legion of Honor and drove the Shrine clown bus for many years. He also drove patients to the burn units at hospitals in Chicago and Cincinnati for treatments. Glenn enjoyed bowling and golfing over the years. He sold Vidalia onions as a fund raiser for the Shriners.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Mary Margaret (James J.) Federici; nephew, James O. (Kathleen) Federici, and niece, Phyllis (Vern L.) Walland, all of Findlay, Ohio.
Friends are invited to visit from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, in the Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, with a Masonic Memorial Service at 6:45 p.m. Funeral will be Tuesday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Dr. John Wurster and Rev. Donna Giver Johnston will officiate. Interment in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay. Military Graveside rites will be conducted by the Hancock Veterans Memorial.
Glenn's family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Sharon Cole and her staff and the 3rd floor nurses at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center as they cared for him and made his life a little easier.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
