Gilbert W. "Gib" Berndt, 84, of Minnesota, formerly of Addison. Beloved husband of Marion nee Moeller; loving father of Donna (Richard) Mayville, Michael (Alice), Scot (Michelle) Berndt and Vicki (Gregg) Littlejohn; dear grandfather of Julie (John) Tobako, David (Pamela) Mayville, Mark (Kelly) Mayville, Timothy (Rachel) Mayville, Alec, Kira and Joel Berndt; step-grandfather of Donald, Timothy and Steven Clayton and families; grandpa great of Chelsey, Katie, Tony, Allie, Brea, Kacey, Nathan, Ryan, Evangeline and Zackary; fond brother of Melvin and June (Leslie) Brown and the late Earl and Lawrence Berndt. Also preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Florence Berndt. Gib was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII and a retired sheet metal worker. Visitation Friday, 4-8 p.m. at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison (2 miles W of Rt. 83, 2 miles E of Rt. 53). Lying in state Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Funeral Service 12 noon at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 37 Army Trail Rd., Addison. Interment private at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
