Gertrude Butler Obituary

Gertrude "Trudy" Butler, 75, a resident of Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac, formerly of Odell and Glen Ellyn, IL died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 9:45 a.m. at Evenglow Tjardes Health Care Center. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church, 480 S. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL and inurnment will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside, IL. Martin-Burke Funeral Home in Pontiac is handling the arrangements. Memorials in Trudy's name may be left to Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac. Trudy was born on August 12, 1933 in Lazare, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Arthur and Lucienne (Marcoux) LaFreniere. She married Edmund M. Butler in 1956 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by two sons, Ed Butler of Odell, IL and Terry Butler of Pella, IA; four grandchildren, Tom Butler, Heidi Wooten, Amber Butler and Joshua Butler. Also surviving are eight brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Mrs. Butler graduated from Canadian Schools. She was an RN at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was a member of St. Petronelle Church in Glen Ellyn.
