Gerald O'Toole Obituary
Gerald O'Toole, age 87, formerly of Elmhurst, IL.
Beloved husband of the late Matilda C. (nee Pecis); loving father of Scott (Ann) O'Toole and Lisa (Salvador) Santoyo; proud grandfather of Michael, Sharon (Jason) Grabowski, Veronica (Freddy) Sotelo, and Salvador Jr.; honored great grandfather of Skyler, Tristian, Jay, Jr., Enzo and Layla. Gerry was the 6th of 11 children and wonderful brother and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Born in Liverpool England, Gerry endured the harshness of WW II and moved to the United States in 1959 and married Matilda in 1960. Gerry was a talented electrical engineer, exercise enthusiast and very charitable. He loved to garden, read and was a family Superman. He led by example with a smiling confidence. Though a slight man in stature, he has cast a long shadow of love, charity and family and will forever be missed.
Visitation was at the Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst, IL from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Family and friends gathered for viewing on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 9:15 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York Rd., Elmhurst, IL. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials will be appreciated for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org).
