Gerald "Jerry" Carino
Born: April 19, 1938
Died: March 17, 2022
Gerald Carino, 83, passed away peacefully March 17th, 2022 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet, IL. Born on April 19, 1938, in the Philippines and came to The United States in 1945 to live where the family had settled in Chicago, IL. He graduated from York High School in 1957, served in the US Air Force from 1957-1962, and then worked as a salesman for most of his working years until he retired in 2010. Jerry married the love of his life, Bonnie (nee Herbold), on October 26th, 1963 and had 4 beautiful children: James, Peter, David, and Evelyn.
Jerry and Bonnie were regular ballroom dancers at The Willowbrook Ballroom. He was an amazing, spontaneous chef in his own kitchen where he enjoyed cooking filipino meals for his family and friends to enjoy, and he always wanted to be surrounded by his family.
Jerry is survived by his siblings Betty (Leo) Loicano of FL and Joe (Sandy) Carino of FL, sons James (Traci) Carino of IL, Peter (Jeanne) Carino of CA, David (Tina Nall) Carino of IL, and daughter Evelyn (John) Peterson of IL, grandchildren Thomas, Aaron, Zoe, Joel, Dominic, Marcus, Jacklyn, John, Raelyn, Rylee, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, parents Jose and Peggy Carino, siblings Nita (Robert) Pilot and Mike Carino, and granddaughter Tina Carino.
Memorial service to be held at a future date TBD. For further information, please email David at david.ca[email protected]. As per Jerry's request, cremation rights have been accorded, and internment for both Jerry and Bonnie will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lightways Hospice of Joliet. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Woods of Minooka and Sunny Hill Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
