Gerald Abbey Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" R. Abbey, a lifelong resident of Glen Ellyn, passed away on November 26, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Adelaide; loving father of Cynthia (William) Foster of Addison, Catherine (Jeffery) Johnson of Campton Hills; dear grandfather of Jason (Lauren) Foster, Kimmy, Bethany and Will; great grandfather of Avery; fond brother of George (late Adelaide) Abbey of Mesa, AZ; dear companion of their dog Jody; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Gerald served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was a master of the Rubik's Cube and enjoyed telling stories. He knew endless facts of trivia, liked geology, weather, gardening and watching westerns and sci-fi. He always knew the latest and coolest shows and gadgets.
Visitation was Sunday, November 30, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn. Funeral Service was Monday, December 1, 11:00 a.m. at Funeral Home. Interment Memory Gardens, Arlington Heights.
