Georgiana Becker Obituary

GEORGIANA M. BECKER Georgiana M. Becker, passed away on August 9, 2013, at 92 years of age. She was born on George Washington 's Birthday in 1921. Wife to the late Leonard F. Becker (form State of Illinois Senator). Mother of Debbie (John) Zak, grandmother of Laura and Kristin Zak. Aunt of several nieces and nephews. A passionate encourager of her two sisters. She was a loyal friend and encourager in word and deed. She was a natural story teller, and her experiences and stories even found their way into a TV documentary. Georgiana was a woman of faith in God, and her love of gardening gave her great joy. Garden in St. Frances of Rome Church stands in her memory. She met many people in her life with whom she became a loyal friend. She strove to live by the words of St. Francis - "Oh Master, grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love with all my soul." There was time of visitation on August 14, 2013, from 2:00-7:00pm, at Svec & Sons Funeral Home in Berwyn, a rosary from 7:15-8:15pm, and a time of sharing memories after word. A mass celebrating her life was held at St. Frances of Rome Church in Cicero at 10:00am, on August 15, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Frances of Rome for the continuation of Georgiana 's beloved garden area. Georgiana 's family would like to acknowledge with gratitude, her many relatives, friends and neighbors with whom she shared her life and her spirit of giving, especially Joe Salcedo, her constant friend, Nita & mike Morelos, her care-giving angels from All Trust Home Health Care.
