Our thoughts are with you. George was someone that was impossible not to like. Travis and Jackie both hit it when they mentioned his 'gentle' nature. It was just something everyone could recognize in his personality, even way back in his youth.

It's funny what you remember as a kid. I remember Kay babysitting for us (despite my protests that I was only a bit younger) and her telling me that later that afternoon she would be going out on a date with George. I think I knew then that they were a forever thing. I also remember that it is something that I wanted for myself. Some people never find their soul mates; blessed are those that do.
George will continue to live in our hearts and memories.

So sorry to hear the news. George was a gentle presence in our childhood. I fondly remember him calmly sitting and consoling me while I waited for my tardy Grandfather (Bill Rober) to pick me up from a 1st grade roller skating party. There are countless other stories like this and I hope these memories are able to help you at such a difficult time.

Kay, I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. I remember ( a life time ago......) when you and George were in high school and the marching band with Mr. Finn would go to all the fireman's parades. George would play those chance games until he won you the largest stuffed animal - every time! What a sweet couple you were.... Lots of great memories will help you now. Love to you all.

It makes me smile to remember gentle Uncle George sitting calmly at family gatherings as a dozen cousins spent all day loudly chasing each other around. Now that I'm a parent myself, I wonder how he managed to stay so calm among the chaos! Maureen and Marty, you have the same relaxed and gentle manner as your Dad, and it is a beautiful tribute to him as a father. Love to you all.
