George Dewey McCutcheon, age 69 of Lemont, at rest at his home on August 5, 2016.
Born November 14, 1946 in Joliet, Il. to William and Emily (nee Cutney) McCutcheon. Graduate of Lemont High School and Coyne College, George was a proud U.S Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam era from 1968 to 1970 in the 4th Infantry Division where he received the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, two Army Commendation Medals, the Vietnamese Cross of Valor, and the Combat Infantry Badge for his distinguished conduct. Member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 50 years, George was an avid gardener, an automobile enthusiast and a lover of animals big and small.
Beloved husband of Jessica (nee Maske); loving father of Michael C. and Mark A.; cherished grandfather of Penelope, Elliott, Maeve and Sloane; dearest brother of Judy Jelinski and the late Gene W. and Robert McCutcheon; dear uncle of Gene W. McCutcheon Jr., Jeffrey McCutcheon, Robert Jelinski, Kathy Hoffman, Lisa Cruz and Nicole Deutsch.
Memorial Services Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Gerharz-Cappetta Funeral Home & Cremation Services 501 State St., Lemont. Rev Glenn B. Bergmark, officiating.
Visitation from 10:00 A.M. till time of services.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Development Department at Loyola Medical Center Burn Unit, 2160 S. First Ave., Maywood, IL 60153 or loyolamedicine.org
