To the friends and family of Mr. Drenth - I was frankly a terrible little leaguer back in the 70s. But I think I was the kind of player that benefited from what a kind and caring umpire Mr. Drenth was. He was patient, yet firm, and taught players like me a great deal about baseball and helped contribute to my love of the game (and I got used to hearing his awesome strike call). I and hundreds of others are grateful for his contributions to Westmont Little League. My thoughts and prayers for him and for you.

Bill, George, Carol, and Jeff. Sorry about hearing of the passing of Mr. Drenth. He always told me to call him George, but out of respect, couldn't. All sorts of memories in our young days at your house playing ball and Mr. Drenth playing against us. He was a great guy and I know we're going to miss him. Tom and Linda Chatton

I am sorry for your loss Jeff. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Drenth family. I am one of many that never even thought of questioning a ball or strike during a Little League baseball game that Mr. Drenth was umpiring. I refereed WPD biddy basketball games along with him and had a blast! I enjoyed catching-up with him at Twin Lakes Golf course as well...

May the good Lord our God bless the entire family and keep you in his Grace. I remember well watching George walking to the train every day as a child, and all the good times spent playing baseball as a kid in the backyards. Rest in peace.
