Frank Stahle Obituary

Frank "Gus" Stahle, 84, of Westmont, Illinois, died Saturday September 29th in Sylvania, Ohio. He was born on October 6, 1927 in Berwyn, Illinois to Frank W. Stahle and Florence Olsen. Early in his life, he served domestically in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from the service and pursued his passion; learning. He attended the University of Chicago and the University of Colorado and earned a degree in civil engineering. Although his degree was in engineering, he loved the humanities, particularly Philosophy. After he finished his studies he continued to read and learn. He worked as an engineer, general contractor, and carpenter in the greater Chicagoland area. He took immense pride in his craftsmanship; and enjoyed hard labor with his fellow craftsmen. He is survived and greatly missed by his daughter, Christine Stahle (Kevin West); and three grandchildren, Evan, Kathryn, and Caroline. He will be remembered for his wit, intelligence and work ethic. His memorial service will be held at a future date at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 1400 S. Wolf Rd. Hillside, IL 60162. Arrangements were made through the Walker Funeral Home, 419.841.2422. Online condolences may be shared by visiting walkerfuneralhomes.com.
