Frank Pienkowski Obituary

Frank C. Pienkowski, 81, died September 13, 2008, Indianapolis, IN. Frank was a veteran of WWII having served with the Army's 19th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., active with the Addison Post #7446. He worked in the printing business for many years and later worked for the City of Elmhurst, IL and eventually retired from a position with the Village of Addison, IL. He was a 45 year resident of Addison, IL. Frank is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Douglas) Pels, grandchildren, USAF SSgt. Jim, Robbie, Leeann and Sharyl; sister, Emily (Berenda); and brother, Victor. Frank is preceded in death by his loving wife, Frieda (DeLuca); sister, Sally (Balducci); and brothers, John, Matt, Stanley, Vince and Walter. Funeral Mass will be celebrated September 27, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1223 W. Holtz Ave., Addison, IL. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Hospice, 8402 Harcourt Rd, Suite 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260 or The American Lung Association, 9445 Delegates Row, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Arrangements entrusted to A.R.N. Cremation Services.

Lynn - Your dad was a very nice man and I'm glad I was fortunate enough to know him. He had quite the sense of humor and I will always remember his fondness for cooking soups. I know your family will greatly miss him but I just know he is up in heaven right now, alongside your mom, likey having a cold beer! As it should be! I'm here if you need me. See you soon.
